Commissioned by Greenpeace, Kutiman's "Antarctica" explores the depths of a global issue that currently lies at the hearts and minds of many. In an effort to increase awareness of a continent in danger, Kutiman utilizes his mastery of keys and percussion to orchestrate a powerful yet ambient tapestry of sound that is both jazzy and blissfully spiritual. “Antarctica” evokes visions of the majestic, glacier-covered locale along with the mixed emotions of both hope and fear that tend to surround this often overlooked topic.

“Antarctica,” which originally premiered on Facebook showcasing Kutiman’s masterful solo performance of the piece, proves yet again that this ever-evolving artist approaches his work with not only meticulous skill and musicianship but mindfulness, as well.
